Digi International announced an agreement to acquire Disruptive Technologies, an advanced sensing leader, for $130,000,000 USD.
Disruptive Technologies, led by Erik Fossum Færevaag, develops compact ultra-low-power sensors with a 15-year battery life and has over 250,000 sensors deployed. Following the acquisition, Disruptive Technologies will join SmartSense by Digi. This move is expected to strengthen the IoT platform's sensing layer for enterprise AI and digital workflows. The acquisition also establishes SmartSense's first meaningful European presence.
