THL Partners has acquired Queue-it, a Denmark-based developer of virtual waiting room services, for an undisclosed amount. The transaction transfers ownership of Queue-it from its previous shareholders to THL Partners, a private equity firm, marking a change in the company’s ownership structure rather than a new funding round.
Queue-it provides software that manages high-traffic online events, helping more than 1,000 organizations across government, retail, and ticketing sectors handle peak demand. Its platform prevents website crashes, blocks automated bots, and reduces load-induced errors such as overselling, serving over 25 billion visitors annually. The company operates from its headquarters in Denmark, with additional offices in the United States, Australia, and South Korea.
For THL Partners, the acquisition adds a specialized technology provider with a recurring revenue model and a strong position in a niche market. The firm’s investment approach typically focuses on scaling businesses with proven products and expanding their reach. Queue-it’s established client base and global footprint offer a foundation for growth, particularly in sectors where digital traffic surges are common.
The deal is expected to give Queue-it access to additional capital and operational expertise, which could support product development and international expansion. THL Partners may also help the company pursue new verticals or geographic markets, leveraging its experience in building out technology platforms. Queue-it’s existing management team is likely to remain in place to oversee day-to-day operations.
With THL Partners as the new owner, Queue-it is positioned to deepen its presence in existing markets while exploring adjacent opportunities. The combined focus will likely center on strengthening the platform’s reliability and broadening its adoption among large-scale online service providers.
