Gamgee

Gamgee is a biotechnology company developing an end-to-end platform for personalized mRNA cancer vaccines for dogs. The company was founded by Paul Conyngham and is part of the Y Combinator Summer 2026 batch. The venture was inspired by the founder's own dog, Rosie, who was diagnosed with cancer and lived for an additional two years after receiving a breakthrough treatment. The company's service manages the entire treatment process, starting with collaborating with the client's veterinarian to collect a tumor and healthy DNA tissue sample. Gamgee then sequences the samples to identify mutations that are unique to the dog's cancer. Using this genomic data, it designs a personalized mRNA vaccine engineered to instruct the patient's immune system to identify and attack the cancer cells. The platform covers the entire workflow, from the initial vet intake and tissue collection through to the genomic analysis, vaccine creation, and subsequent treatment monitoring. Gamgee's business model is focused on providing this full-service solution directly to the families of dogs with cancer, in partnership with their veterinarians and oncologists.
