Living Optics, a company aiming to bring hyperspectral imaging out of the lab and into the mass market, has raised $20.0M from a syndicate of investors. The funding round included participation from BRV Capital Management, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Applied Ventures, Lam Capital, GK Goh, British Business Bank, Octopus Ventures, Foresight Group, OTIF Ventures, Oxford Science Enterprises, and Braavos Group.
A 2020 spin-out from the University of Oxford, Living Optics is developing a VIS-NIR snapshot HSI camera designed to capture real-time data and reveal information invisible to the human eye or conventional cameras. The company plans a product launch in 2023, leveraging patented optical methods and neural networks to miniaturize complex systems.
