Loci, an applied research company building AI models for 3D digital assets, has raised $4.6M in seed funding.
The company was founded by AI scientists from Cambridge, Imperial, MIT, Oxford, and Meta. Its models recognize, label, and understand 3D assets - generating tags, writing captions, categorizing, detecting art styles, and rendering - so that the billions of 3D assets underpinning everything from smartphones and skyscrapers to video games and self-driving cars can be searched, managed, and used. Longer term, Loci aims to build the first 3D-large language models capable of understanding text, image, and 3D inputs.
