Nectar Group, Inc. has raised $5.0M in seed funding to build out institutional-grade Bitcoin yield infrastructure. The round was backed by Portal Ventures, Peer Ventures, and Anchorage Digital Ventures.
The company operates HoneyB, a platform that lets institutions use their Bitcoin as collateral to borrow stablecoins, then deploy those stablecoins into real-world asset strategies such as the AlphaLedger/Simplify T-12 Fund. The pitch is built around keeping the setup secure and non-custodial, with integration into qualified custodians - a combination aimed at institutions that want yield on their Bitcoin without handing over the keys.
