Parasol Med Tech has raised $2.8M in pre-seed funding to advance its work on stroke prevention for patients with atrial fibrillation. The round drew backing from Evan Singer, the Polsky Center at the University of Chicago, UChicago Medicine, Harper Court Ventures, and the American College of Cardiology.
The company is designing personalized technology aimed at preventing strokes in AFib patients, a group for whom stroke risk is a persistent clinical concern. The involvement of UChicago Medicine and the American College of Cardiology gives the pre-seed round an unusual degree of clinical backing for a company at this stage.
