The quest for truly regenerative materials just got a $1.8M boost for Ponda, a biomaterials company that's turning wetland crops into next-generation textiles. The startup, which secured the capital through a crowdfunding round, is on a mission to regenerate damaged wetlands by creating economic value from their unique flora.
Ponda's first product, BioPuff®, is an insulation designed as a next-generation alternative to goose-down. Made from bulrushes that thrive on regenerated wetlands, BioPuff® not only keeps users warm and dry but also actively contributes to removing carbon from the atmosphere, enhancing biodiversity, and building climate resilience. The company works closely with farmers to ensure traceability and build confidence in long-term sustainable farming.
