Prolific Machines has raised $50.0M in Series B funding to push its light-controlled cell line development and bioprocessing platform further into the biologics market. The round drew backing from Nant Capital, Atoms & Bits, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Mayfield, SOSV, and Ki Tua Fund.
The company's technology uses light to dynamically tune protein expression, which it says delivers higher yields and better on-target quality for complex biologics. Its platform is designed to bolt onto standard manufacturing infrastructure through add-on illumination hardware, data-driven process optimization, and advanced analytics. Prolific Machines works with biotechs, pharmaceutical companies, and CDMOs, offering preclinical cell line and process development services alongside platform licensing options.
