Tydra Labs, a company tackling the challenge of synthetic and toxic inputs in manufacturing, has raised $421K from investor NorthX. The startup is developing high-performance biomaterials from organic waste, leveraging a proprietary fermentation and processing platform to create multifunctional alternatives.
Its core innovation lies in plant-based fibrillated chitin, a material designed to unlock functionality and performance not possible with conventional chitin or chitosan, with applications spanning cosmetics, coatings, and advanced materials.
