Mindmax has raised $3.3M in pre-seed funding to build a personal learning coach for adults. The round was backed by Concept Ventures, Redrice Ventures, Daybreak Ventures and Lerer Hippeau.
The company is the work of Ed Cooke, a Grand Master of Memory, and Daniel Zohar, both of whom helped build Memrise, the learning platform that drew 80 million users. Mindmax's pitch is that adults chasing a licence, a promotion or a career change are left stitching together YouTube videos, half-finished bootcamps and a ChatGPT tab - when what they need is a teacher who knows what to learn next and makes sure it sticks.
