Spout Finance raised $2.0M to build out a lending protocol on Solana where the collateral does the paying. Borrowers deposit tokenized stocks - AAPL, TSLA, SPY among 34 total - and take stablecoin loans with no ongoing interest charges.
The twist is how lenders get paid: an automated covered call engine generates yield on the deposited equities, flipping the usual model so borrowers aren't charged and lenders earn double-digit APY backed by real options activity on US stocks. The round drew a long list of backers, including Draper Dragon, Anchorage Digital, Flow Traders, Solana Labs, and Solana cofounders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal.
