The Dutch open-air museum reconstructs 43 buildings, farms, and huts drawn from archaeological excavations in the Netherlands, spanning the Mesolithic era through the Roman period and the Middle Ages up to 1350. Visitors can paddle a dugout canoe, grind grain on early farmers' fields, watch a bronze caster at work, and walk the Roman camp village of Trajectum ad Rhenum. The site also hosts business meetings and events in its Roman inn and medieval cloister.
