Rookwood Operations Ltd has raised $1.1M in seed funding to scale its natural systems for recovering nutrients and contaminants from water. The round was backed by The FSE Group, British Business Bank South West and Sustainable Ventures.
The company's technology uses natural materials to capture excess phosphorus and nitrogen, along with emerging contaminants, from water and return them safely to land as a resource for agriculture. Rookwood says the approach is designed around practical, scalable deployment, with a focus on reducing river and lake pollution while supporting soil health and helping organisations meet tightening environmental standards.
