The Miami-Dade Innovation Authority has raised $3.0M from the Knight Foundation, adding to the nonprofit's push to connect private technology companies with local government.
MDIA launched in 2023 with matching private, public and philanthropic funding from the Knight Foundation, Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin, and Miami-Dade County. Its Public Innovation Challenge Program pairs private innovators with the public sector through strategic investments and a test-and-validate process aimed at getting market-ready solutions - and the jobs that come with them - into Miami-Dade County.
